On Parenting from a Dad "Let them"

My Son Judah and I

My Son Judah and I

Let them see you happy.

Let them see you sad.

@@ Let them see you helpless on your knees before God. @@

Let them see you seeking wisdom in God’s word everyday.

Let them see you mess up.

Let them hear you say, “I’m sorry I was wrong”.

Let them see you fight for them.

Let them see you fight for others.

@@ Let them see you treat people with dignity and respect, despite the lines society has drawn between us. @@

Let them know that you have their back.

Let them be inspired by you to be men and women of honor.

Let them hear you stand for truth.

Let them see you serve and love their mother above and beyond, as Christ did for the church.
Let them see you serve others in humility, regardless who they are.

Let them be able to say you were a servant of all.

Let them hear you say it over and over, “I love you and I’m proud of you.”

Let them hear you point out where you see God’s grace at work in their lives, believe me it will make the days when you bring correction lighter.

Let your children know you as a man after God’s heart that is committed to being conformed into the image of Christ.

Above all let them stand one day and say, “I know God is a good father, because I had a good father.”

@@ It’s not too late to start being a father or mother that boldly and humbly says, "Imitate me as I imitate Christ". -1 Corinthians 11:1 @@

LET THEM INTO YOUR LIFE AS A DISCIPLE AND BY THAT YOU WILL HEED THE COUNSEL OF OUR SAVIOR. “LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN COME TO ME AND DO NOT HINDER THEM, FOR TO SUCH BELONGS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.” -MATThew 19:14

I’M NOT THERE YET, BUT ONE THING is certain, I WILL CONTINUE TO “LET THEM”.
